There's only one race, and that's the human race. Period. - Edward James Olmos

Sounds fascinating, ain't it?

But here we are, living in a world, that has been forced to separate into different races.

And fights break out.

Amazing, isn't it?

So, here comes the big question: What can we do to promote World Peace?

Mother Theresa was asked this question when she recived the Nobel Prize

"Go home and love your family," was her reply.

Yes, she is right. How can we have World Peace if we do not love our families?

And here's a quote from Julia Roberts: Life is so precious. Please, please, let's love one another.

Edward James Olmos is right. Mother Theresa is right. So is Julia Roberts.

Get our point?

The first step in having World Peace will actually to start LOVING EVERYBODY.

Yes, everybody.

Because from what our group believes, there is only ONE race.

Which is the human race. Duh.

Which confuses us, why must there be four races???

Isn't just having one race enough???

Apparently not. And that's why you see fights and wars happening all over.

In fact, there probably might be one going on right now.

But hey, let's not get so pessimistic.

"All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle." - St Francis of Assisi

How true.

Okay, let's see...

First of all, we'll explain to you why you should love your family.

Simple.

Cause they're your family.

See, for example, this father has just came home from work and is groaning about how hard his life is, and his children don't care about him.

All the child has to do is offer him a cup of tea, offer to massage him and say a simple "Thank you, Daddy" will do.

Not start a fight with the father for not giving him freedom, more pockect money...blah blah blah...all those stuff teens want.

We're also teenagers, remember?

See?

There are two things you can do for your parents; either offer to help, or just shut your mouth.

They won't be any less grateful, cause number one, you actually stopped an almost-to-happen-disaster-but-didn't-happen disaster. They'll be grateful. Number two, they're think to themselves, Hey, my kid is growing up!

Maybe you guys can have a chat next time about giving you more freedom. How's that sound?

Okay, next...we 100%, totally and uberly, agree with Julia Roberts

And why?

Because life is precious.

But yeah, "Life isn't fair. It's just fairer than death, that's all."

A quote from Wiliam Goldman.

Yes, we agree life isn't fair, but BUT you can make a change!

Make compromises!!!

If not why did people invent the word "compromise", huh?

Okay...time to pull out an example.

Here is a scenario in which can happen. Hey, we got vivid imagination okay?

3,2,1, ACTION!!!

*snap of the board*

The parents has just came back from a Meet-The-Parent session in school and are disappointed by what the teacher has told them in school.

(Case in point: Talking too much in class, not paying attention, cutting queue, not handing up homework on time...you get the drift.)

The son comes out of his room and greets his parents; ignoring the disappointment in their eyes after the session and asks roughly: I want more pocket money!!! 5o bucks is not enough, compared with other Sec Fours.

The parents, obviously, feels hurt and the father barks: Why isn't 50 bucks enough? It's more than enough for me already!!!

"You are you and I am me! There's a difference!"

"I am not going to give you more pocket money! 50 bucks is clearly enough!"

(Here comes the favourite line)

"YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND ME AT ALL!!!"

(closing scene as both continue to fight; the mother keeping quiet and slipping to the room)

See???

See the possible ways ths fight could have been prevented???

See???

The son is in the wrong, yes.

But the father is also in the wrong.

The son is wrong in bluntly ignoring his parents' disappointed faces and outrightly demanding more pocket money.

The father is wrong in scolding his song about asking for more money.

Yes, we agree it is not a good time to ask for more pocket money, but it has nothing to do with the Meet The Parents session anyways.

Technically, in a way, it is involved, but not half of it is because of this.

First of all, the son should have asked how the session went. That could prevent a fight from breaking out

Secondly, the father and mother can ask the son to sit down for a little talk. Then maybe during this talk, the subject of pocket money can come up and they can discuss ways to give him more pocket money.

Lastly, compromise. It may seem difficult, but I assure you, its not. For example, the son can promise to pull up his socks. The father can agree to give him more pocket money if his son's results improve gradually.

Pretty simple, isn't it?

Well, so now you know, there's only one race (which is the HUMAN race, duh) and that in order to love the world, you have to love your family first.

So act today!!!
